Pre-Course for Internationals
July 9-11, 2009
For those coming from outside the U.S., we offer (and strongly urge you to attend) the PreCourse for Internationals.

This series of classes and field trips provides you with information about the U.S. publishing industry and new media fundamental to understanding later sessions.

The PreCourse is open only to those accepted to the Main Course. U.S. participants may take the PreCourse at their discretion.

This year's field trips include:
  • Conde Nast's Wired magazine, winner of the National Magazine Award for General Excellence and chronicler of the how technology affects culture in the U.S.
  • Bonnier's Weldon Owen Book Publishers, producers of the Williams Sonoma and Pottery Barn line of books plus numerous other branded book series
  • Ning, the social network founded by Marc Andreessen and Gina Bianchini
  • Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia with millions of articles contributed collaboratively using Wiki software, in dozens of languages.

Want to know more about what international publishing professionals can expect from the Course? Our Alumni Advisory Board--comprised of international alumni of the Course--is available to answer your questions.
